A little about me
I joined the BBC as a Sound Trainee way, way back in 1978 and started my broadcast career at Television Centre in London. During the 5 years I spent there I worked on many different programme genres including Light Entertainment, Sitcoms, Drama, Children's, News & Current Affairs and Sport.
In 1983 I transferred to Kendal Avenue, the then home of BBC OBs, and worked my way up from Sound Assistant to Sound Supervisor. In my numerous years on Outside Broadcasts I have worked on nearly every genre of programme but as a Sound Supervisor I have specialised mainly in Live Sports. This was exclusively for BBC Sport until the BBC sold Outside Broadcasts to SIS in 2008. Since then I also worked for ITV, ESPN, FilmNova, BT Sport, S+V , Racing TV, Whisper Films, Lagardère Sports, IMG and numerous other independent production companies. In 2014 SIS Live pulled out of the OB market so since then I have been freelance and continued working on the same sort of programmes including Olympics, Football World Cup, Rugby World Cup, Dubai World Cup, PTO World Triathlon Series and The Super Bowl. . |
